Secure Your Mail Server

Many organisations are aware that a firewall will secure their connection to the Internet - however, many people don't realise that the firewall may often leave your mail server (MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, Groupwise etc) vulnerable to a direct attack from hackers.

When your mail server is configured to communicate directly on the Internet, hackers can easily find your Internet address through what is called a "domain lookup". Once, they have your IP address they can then start to communicate directly with your Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes or other (unsecured) mail server.

When people try to find out your IP addresses from the Internet, they will be pointed towards Web Secure MailGuard - at no point do they see your organisations Internet address, and at no point do they come into contact with your mail server.

The second advantage of using Web Secure MailGuard as your secure mail relay is that if you are temporarily disconnected from the Internet, your clients and suppliers will not receive embarrassing and confusing warning messages.

Web Secure MailGuard will quite simply hold onto your e-mail until you are connected again. If for some reason, your connection to the Internet or mail server is not contactable for longer than 4 hours - you will be notified by SMS sent directly to your digital phone (optional).
